Featured Area: Software Patents
I am usually troubled when I see news items about software patents (although this one was encouraging) as I believe they stifle innovation, allow very large corporations to wedge out competition, and otherwise make professional software writing a lesser field.
So, I've added a link in the featured area of my site to a good overview of why software patents are not a good idea (aimed at EU members, but applicable everywhere I think). The featured area is on the side of the main page. If you haven't visited lately, I got a new photo from Pat to look at, and have done some houscleaning, so this gives you an excuse to stop by and look around.
I hope you find the 'no software patents' site thought-provoking and (if you are so inclined) that you pass it along to others.
